Sources corroborate content, email verified on mailing list. Title is a little awkward, but publishing. --Brian McNeil / talk 20:07, 31 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Uh, shouldn't this be "British doctor killed while on honeymoon"? As written now it sounds like he was shot, then killed by some different means. --Rividian (talk) 16:19, 1 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I thought the update template, as with all such things, was cnsidered a non-content addition and was suitable for addition after archiving? Blood Red Sandman (Talk) (Contribs) 20:40, 3 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

To start with, the update template is bloody ugly and highly obtrusive; I wouldn't wish it on Conservapedia. Secondly, there are many, many stories which we have done followup pieces on and not applied this - why start now? The cases where I have seen this used in the past are where Wikinews has been flat-out wrong and had to admit to this.
Some discussion on this topic has taken place in IRC, and I have invited those favouring edits to old news to bring it up on the Water Cooler. In the meantime, I've put this article back to the way it was when people first read it. --Brian McNeil / talk 20:49, 3 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I have frequently added the {{Update}} template to articles in the past, I think it is fine and perfectly in accordance with WN:ARCHIVE. If it is not the most aesthetically pleasing, that should be changed instead. Cirt (talk) 21:04, 3 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

We also have a different template for corrections - {{Correction}}. The template {{Update}} is actually intended expressly for this purpose. Cirt (talk) 21:06, 3 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
