Talk:Crisis at stricken Japan nuclear plant escalates to level of Chernobyl; six killed in aftershock
Add topicMy comments on this article:
- Headline is misleading as "massive" is widely used only for the original 9.0 earthquake in Japan and has not been used for this earthquake. Sources indicate there is little resulting damage from Monday's aftershock. There is a disagreement whether it was a 7.0 or 6.6. Only the BBC source used in the article says it is a 7. The rest say 6.6. Also, it appears that although "a brief tsunami warning" was originally issued, it was canceled and was a nonevent. And sources do not indicate that this earthquake "rocked" Japan but causes little damage and that damage was in a localized area.

There has so far been no serious damage reported at five nuclear plants in northeast Japan, including the crippled Fukushima Daiichi plant, as a result of Monday's magnitude-6.6 earthquake.
The order came after a 7.4 magnitude aftershock on Thursday, the biggest since the deadly March 11 quake, had temporarily disabled all three power lines supplying offsite power to Tohoku Electric Power Co's Higashidori plant, which has been shut for regular maintenance since February.(from Reuters cited above)

- Also...have the people been rescued? The magnitude also needs updated...it was downgraded to a 6.6. DragonFire1024 (Talk to the Dragon) 14:30, 11 April 2011 (UTC)
