--That makes perfect sense. Assuming that men do statistically cheat on their wives more often than women cheating on their husbands, it follows that since condom usage is very low among married couples, the risk of a monogamous wife contracting an STD from her cheating husband would spike dramatically (it would be a similar case if the woman was the one being promiscuous and the husband was being faithful). In any case, the factor is a large occurrence of one partner engaging in a large amount of unprotected sex with multiple high risk partners. Condom use is higher among single people. --Derag
