a website called Debka.com who is siting Russian intelligence officials
Holy, hell. This is really gonna happen! --SVTCobra 04:49, 31 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This just in . . .[edit]

Russia may detonate the entire nuclear arsenal, just because they can, said un-named sources "siting" weird websites. Oh, and they will likely do it on May Day just because that'd be cool. (Keep in mind that I said "may") --SVTCobra 05:27, 31 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The above discussions were copied from Talk:U.S. may attack Iran on April 6/Comments.

I told you so[edit]

The newswires must be a little slow this morning. I haven't gotten the reports on the US attack on Iran . . . has anyone got the details yet? What's that? There was no attack? How can that be?

This article was a report on speculation done by DEBKAfile that claimed to have specific information about a US attack with not only a date but the exact hour of the attack. But instead of dismissing the article as speculation bordering on fantasy, like I suggested on the talk page shortly after it was created, other users thought differently. In a disgusting display of POV pushing they scoured the internet for anything and everything about the location of US aircraft carriers and Russian intelligence, to build up something that looks like a credible report.

Curiously, the DEBKAfile report was never in the listed sources for this report. Wait, maybe it is not so curious. You see, the report cannot be found on the website. It seems that even they had the good sense to remove it. I mean they seem to have an extensive article history but this one is missing? --SVTCobra 14:51, 6 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Take a look at the article's Talk page for an interesting look at the evolution of this article. Another fun thing to do is to search Wikinews for "attack iran" and see how many articles there about the US attacking Iran. --SVTCobra 15:03, 6 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Also, I have trouble understanding the POV being pushed. I think they are anti-war, but they secretly wish for the US to attack Iran, just so they can say "I told you so, George Bush is crazy!" --SVTCobra 15:03, 6 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
yes, u told us so. –Doldrums(talk) 15:12, 6 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

April is not over[edit]

What about next week or the week after....April is not over. The April 9th announcements by the Iranian President did not help this situation. Does anyone have comments on the six US aircraft carriers that appear to be "making ready" for some kind of event? Has there ever been a parallel situation to this level of mobilization aimed at the western Pacific theater?
