Facts
[edit]"... he raped her over 3,000 times [in 24 years]" - I challenge the veracity of this statement. If I've done the maths right that works out as an average of 2.92 per day. Really? This may be possible, but I'd need convinced the three-times-a-day thing is accurate. Note I chose my wording carefuly; it may be verifiable (sourced) but I'm gravely concerned how a source may have arrived at this conclusion. Disclaimer: I have not followed the case in massive detail, so may be unaware of evidence suggesting this is a reasonable figure. Blood Red Sandman (Talk) (Contribs) 00:03, 10 November 2010 (UTC)
- It does seem unlikely and misleading as a number. However I'm aware of at least one legal venue where each sexually-related event (hug, kiss, penetration, &c.) may be legally tried as a separate criminal act (where all forms/degrees of sexual assault are under a single classification, iow.) I believe the court decision will include the actual figures to be used, but I'm not certain the documents are publicly available - Amgine | t 00:19, 10 November 2010 (UTC)
I'm not trying to be a smarty pants, but... 24 years = 8760 days. Divide that by 3000 and you get 2.92, which represents not how many times it happened per day, but how many days for every one encounter.
