the WP article has about a paragraph on this in relation to Iran. the article is also tagged as disputed. readers are better served by reading the Politics of Iran article to get the background than by trying to evaluate what is ok in the Islamic Guardianship article and then try to extropolate to the Iranian situation.

for topics that most readers in our international audience are not likely to be familiar with, it is better to link to Wikipedia where it is comprehensively discussed rather than "short, simple definitions in Wiktionary" which are unlikely to capture the meaning and context of these concepts well. –Doldrums(talk) 14:13, 16 May 2007 (UTC)
