Quoting [1] this

Nils Christian Bang, who owns R / S Storebrand and is chairman of the Norwegian Veteran Redningsskøyta Association, decided in 1989 to rebuild Norway's first redningsskøyte.

I am told that redningsskøyte is search and rescue life boat.

I am not sure what Storebrand is; it might be this.

Accoprding to this (and other news results), Nils Christian Bang is the Chairman of Landsrådet (Land council) w:Norsk Selskab til Skibbrudnes Redning.

He is also known as Niels Christian Bang. John Vandenberg (talk) 06:52, 25 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

w:Follum has been created. John Vandenberg (talk) 08:58, 25 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

"3 kilometres of storage space"[edit]

The phrase "the unwanted archives take up 3 kilometres of storage space" needs to be revised, as the kilometre is not a valid measure of storage space. 205.156.136.229 13:47, 25 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Correct. The storage should be expressed as a volume - i.e. cubic measurement. --Brian McNeil / talk 13:49, 25 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Disagree. The length of storage shelving used at archives is a common method of indicating the size of the collection, for example the size of the British Library's newspaper collection: "over 693,000 bound volumes and parcels, occupying some 32 kilometres (or 20 miles) of shelves; over 370,000 reels of microfilm, on 13 kilometres (or 8 miles) of shelf space; holdings altogether occupying some 45 kilometres (or 28 miles) of shelving in total." -- Arwel (talk) 20:59, 27 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Then it should say shelf space. I have made the correction. Mike R (talk) 16:44, 30 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Title[edit]

Is "libricide" an appropriate term here? I haven't heard it before, and it could come across as being somewhat partial (IE. "Killing" books makes it sound slanted). Thanx, 68.39.174.238 02:56, 28 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, for two reasons: 1. Libricide puts this on par with homicide, fratricide, patricide, and genocide, and this does not seem warranted. 2. These are newspapers, not books, so "libricide" may not even be accurate. Jade Knight (talk) 08:05, 28 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
See wikt:libricide; and destruction of historical/cultural writings, sanctioned by University, warrants a dramatic title (in my book). I wont mind if it is renamed by someone more familiar with the standards here, provided the redirect left as I have given this page name to a number of people when asking for help. John Vandenberg (talk) 04:53, 30 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It also sorta sounds like some kind of icecapade performance "Libricide plans on ice!" with your favorite figure skaters. Cirt (talk) 08:40, 28 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
