what exactly is "original" about this report? as far as I can tell everything is from the sources. --SVTCobra 22:34, 14 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've been in contact with the DeKalb police dept. and friends who work at the NIU student paper. A lot of what is happening is getting out to the major outlets so there will be a lot of overlap. --Theirishpianist - (talk) 22:36, 14 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Incidentally I'm keeping an ear out for any press conference and will try and hustle over there if I can. I live only a few miles from the campus of NIU. --Theirishpianist - (talk) 22:44, 14 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Not a source, but a friend of mine who lives in Chicago and whoms father is a DeKalb police officer called him, according to him two casualties...:( —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.184.34.79 (talk) 22:47, 14 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Just wanted to thank everyone for their help in getting this article cleaned up. As I said, I live not too far from NIU, and it's been a shock to almost everyone here. There are press conferences tomorrow at NIU and at the hospital, so we should have more information for the article then. --Theirishpianist - (talk) 05:48, 15 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

7 killed --72.73.95.92 16:49, 15 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Now they're saying it's back to six, including the shooter - the confusion about whether it was six or seven was tied to the fact that some of the more serious cases were transferred to other facilities outside of Winnebago County (where the triage hospital and NIU are both located) --Theirishpianist - (talk) 17:41, 15 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
