Unmarried
[edit]He was unmarried, but not alone by any means. He had a long-time partner named Christine; anyone who knew him or worked with him knew that they loved each other very much and that she was extremely supportive. He was not alone, he was a brilliant and deeply depressed man, well respected in his community, and in his academic field. He didn't want his life to be defined or dominated by, literally in his case, the ghosts of his past.
