Sources do not support article
[edit]Unless I am just missing it, I don't see how the two sources given for this article support the material. Neither mention "personal budget crisis for U.S. troops".
- Karoun Demirjian. "Harry Reid ‘not nearly as optimistic’ as government shutdown looms" — Las Vegas Sun, 07APR2011
- CAROL E. LEE And JANET HOOK. "Government Shutdown Grows Liklier" — Wall Street Journal, 29MAR2011
I originally looked because I thought "personnel" must be meant instead of "personal". Could this be checked please? Thanks, Mattisse (talk) 23:12, 7 April 2011 (UTC)
- See The Pentagon reiterated that national security efforts would continue around the world and that “military personnel are not subject to furlough and will report for duty as normal during the shutdown.” The Wall Street Journal, April 7, 2011.
- Workers most likely to be non-essential include national park rangers, export and import inspectors, IRS employees and others, meaning shuttered national parks, delayed paper tax returns and delayed international commerce. The Detroit News, April 7, 2011.
- These two articles don't even mention the military. Mattisse (talk) 23:34, 7 April 2011 (UTC)
- The "personal budget crisis" for the troops refers to the fact that instead of paying troops 2 weeks wages, as is due to them, it looks like they will only receive a weeks worth of wages, which will leave some personnel out of pocket, thus having to handle budgeting issues of their own. BarkingFish (talk) 00:15, 8 April 2011 (UTC)
- Yeah, I've heard that other places, but is it in the sources? Also, shouldn't the headline be "U.S. budget crisis will cause personnel budget crisis for U.S. troops"? Instead of "personal"? Mattisse (talk) 00:26, 8 April 2011 (UTC)
