I just noticed an inconsistency. This article says that the US last used an anti-satellite weapon in 1979 while the article here: http://en.wikinews.org/wiki/China_shoots_down_weather_satellite_with_ballistic_missile says that the US last used one in 1985.

Also, I find it implausible that the Chinese satellite broke in at least 40 000 pieces while the US satellite broke in 80. I don't know how this could be verified though... Dex Stewart - (talk) 17:00, 21 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

  1. Thanks for spotting that. I'd put the satellite's launch date, not the ASAT's launch date, in by mistake. Corrected.
  2. I think I could probably provide references for both interceptions if needed. It is probably related to the size and construction of the satellites, and the nature of the interceptions.
