Notes for Original Reporting

[edit]

I arrived on the scene at 1405 Monterey Highway, in San Jose, California, shortly after closing time, with my camera in tow.

  • Chili was still on the menu, at a price of US$1.19 for a small serving.
  • Workers were unloading supplies and carting them into the back door of the establishment.
  • I was unable to procure a bowl of the chili in question, as the drive-thru closed at 1 a.m. local time (09:00 UTC).
  • The restaurant appears to be preparing to re-open tomorrow morning.

I may follow up and purchase a bowl of the chili from that location to photograph and inspect it, but I'm not a big chili eater, and I would feel bad giving it to someone else, so I'm afraid it would go to waste after I was done with it.

Anyways, that's all from San Jose for tonight.

Eye witness

[edit]

(Unintended pun removed.) Knowing what we know now, doesn't it seem odd that we could write "and upon recognizing the object as a finger, vomited." at the time? Even if we had had an eyewitness, how could they have seen her recognise it as something if she already knew what it was. I have my doubts about more of the dramatising, but this bit I (another unintended pun removed) can not even find a possibility for. Aliter (talk) 21:33, 13 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
