Template:Develop/Original reporting/introduction

Unchecked
From Wikinews, the free news source you can write!

Original reporting sets Wikinews apart from Wikipedia. You may rely on information you have gathered yourself in the text of an article, but you must provide enough information to allow the reviewer to judge the credibility of your report.

Please read these instructions, and complete the appropriate sections giving information on the original reporting you have done.

If a listed section does not apply to your original reporting, explicitly state it is "not applicable".

As is appropriate, place the templates {{Original}}, {{Interview}}, and/or {{Broadcast report}} in the sources section of the actual article.

Censor posted information as is appropriate, and to be considerate to your sources.

For example, remove personal email addresses.

Proactively seek confirmation of your reporting by forwarding uncensored copies of emails shown here as "censored", or other non-public documents, to scoop@wn-reporters.org. Note: the email server will not accept email attachments larger than 10MB. If you have large files that need to be reviewed, one option would be to send an email to Scoop and request to coordinate a different file sharing method with a reviewer. When notifying reviewers via Scoop, include a link to this page in the email you send.
