The [edit] link at the bottom of this template is not needed in my opinion. I noticed that the link was involved in a small edit war not so long ago - so I would like to bring it up for discussion here before we make any changes.

The link breaks up the flow of text on any page the template is added to, leaving an ugly blank line directly below the template. I also do not fully understand its' purpose - many articles in Wikinews do not have seperated sections of news, so therefore the top edit link should be sufficient. --Skenmy(tcwi) 14:50, 29 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

What is that for? I'm going to zap it if no one complains by tommorow. Bawolff 23:25, 12 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Nothing? No comments from anyone? --Skenmy(tcwi) 18:28, 20 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • It's there so you can edit the main body of the story and sources at the same time with out creating an edit conflict. It was vital during very fast editing which was quite common in my day, don't know if that happens much now. Dan100 (Talk) 16:15, 5 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

overuse[edit]

I've noticed recently that this template is somewhat overused (just an observation). Bawolff 23:08, 21 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
