Regardless of the nobility of the efforts of these NGOs, it is naivete to believe Hamas will not make efforts to infiltrate all and any flotillas bringing supplies into Gaza, especially as the fleet size increases. I don't think the original poster was overly concerned about that fact, but as the standing legitimate government of Gaza, they are nonetheless a player in the movement of civilian aid. One can look at the actions of similar tyrannical governments in East Africa (Sudan, Somalia, Ethiopia) that have long histories of seizing foreign aid goods for their own purposes. I'm doing my best to be non-judgmental here, but I think it's myopic to look at this as being strictly a showdown between NGOs and Israel.

I'm not saying it wouldn't be better to expand to include the politics behind this; my intention was to say that not including this extra dimension doesn't (necessarily) mean a POV problem. But, as you pointed out, I buggered up saying it.

Israel has no concept of aid. Remember when they precision-bombed a pair of Red Cross ambulances? Hamas are essentially as nasty, the only difference is in terms of money and hardware. It's tempting to say an international force should 'bang their heads together' for both are viable targets for a war. But, realistically, will that bring any benefit to the public of either?
