Yesterday, in the quarter-final match in UEFA Euro 2016, Poland lost 3–5 to Portugal in a penalty shootout decider. The score was 1–1 at the end of the additional time.
Poland struck early as Polish captain Robert Lewandowski found the net in the second minute of the game. Poland maintained this lead for half an hour before Renato Sanches scored an equaliser for the Portuguese.
Poland had greater ball possession. Five players were booked in the game, four of them in the second half. As the score was 1–1 at the end of the second half, the match progressed to additional time. The additional time ended without any goal scored and the teams had to be separated by penalty shootout.
