Country abbreviation/initials
It's generally acceptable to abbreviate country names in headlines -- and it keep them short. --Chiacomo (talk) 03:39, 20 June 2006 (UTC)
- No need to get upset! It's an unfortunate but true fact that most of the world recognizes USA as an abbreviation for the United States and UK for the United Kingdom while most of the world doesn't recognize SA as an abbreviation for South Africa (I suppose because it might be confused with South America, Saudi Arabia, et al). Precedent and practice indicate that it is acceptable to abbreviate some country names, including the US and UK. Let me know if I can assist you in some way! --Chiacomo (talk) 03:55, 20 June 2006 (UTC)
