Add topicI propose that the contestants are split to sub pages, what's everyone think? Brian | (Talk) | New Zealand Portal 05:44, 3 November 2006 (UTC)
- That's a good idea because as more points are gained more links appear. So sub-pages is a good idea, and then just have the details of each person participating and their total points on the contest page? --Nzgabriel | Talk 05:12, 5 November 2006 (UTC)
those lovely extra points
[edit]the extra 1 and 2 points for reporting on "region you are not from" and "region not well covered" apply to "substantial contribution to article" claims (3pt) only, and not to "copyedited" claims (1pt), methinks. — Doldrums(talk) 06:42, 3 November 2006 (UTC)
- Yes, you can only get 1 point per article you copyedit. —

When did it start?
[edit]If I start now, are articles from, say yesterday counted as well ? If you say when its over, it would be good to know when it started as well (I can guess of course, but..). Regards Sean Heron 12:51, 3 November 2006 (UTC)
- The contest started on October 29. You cannot earn points for the contest until you put yourself on the contest page. Once you do things from there on, you can earn points for them. —

Should we move this to the [[WN:]] namespace? Thunderhead(talk) 02:45, 4 November 2006 (UTC)
- My user space is good, thank you. Though I do appreciate the redirect at WN:MC. —

Contest benefits
[edit]I notice a distinct difference in the number of stories published when a contest like this is in place. The stakes are relatively small, so why couldn't the foundation run a quarterly competition with 250, 150 and 75 EUR or USD prizes? It'd be a cheap way to generate a lot of content. --Brian McNeil / talk 22:47, 27 November 2006 (UTC)
