I agree with the need for standardization across portals. What would be really neat is also standard CSS, then we could have CSS redesigns that work on portals well! Also The current state of nav templates, with all the variations looks very sloppy. I don't really know what wikipedia-style is, but as long as its all the same, I don't care (Although my personal favourite has always been having a delimeter of a pipe (|), and using yellow for global level, green for secondary, blue for tertiary - ala portal:Mozilla assuiming it hasn't changed).

Another intreasting idea is cascading wikinews news/noticeboard templates. for example heres what the Alberta news template might look like:

cited like {{ab news}}

template ab news has:

{{CAN news}}
===Alberta notices===
*We have two articles !!!
*whatever else intreast albetan wikinewsies

then {{CAN news}}:

{{wn news}}
==Canadian notices==
*Fellowikinewsie Reaches some amount of articles written. congratulations.
*etc

put it all together (Titles of RFA and stuff would still need spome changing)

This way you get global wikinews news, as well as stuff relating to the individual portals. Bawolff 04:48, 8 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
