In a discussion on Bddpaux’s talk page, Asheiou pointed out that a recently published article said that Sevastopol was in Russia, something disputed by many in the international community. After a bit of discussion, Me Da Wikipedian had the idea to avoid the dispute altogether by saying Sevastopol, Crimea.
When to Crimea
[edit]1.When territory is disputed between 2 sovereign and internationally recognized states, where multiple other nations support each side. Examples of this include Crimea, the Nagorno-Karabakh, and Kashmir. 2.When one sovereign and internationally recognized state, backed by multiple other nations, claims the entire territory of another nation recognized by multiple other nations. An example of this include Western Sahara. 3.Any other case when it is necessary to preserve neutrality.
When not to Crimea
[edit]1.When there is no reason to Crimea applicable
2.When the proposed Crimeaing would still not be neutral.
3.When the claims on an area are very limited. An example would be North Korea’s claim to South Korea and vice versa.
