Wikinews:Write an article!
Use the following box to create a news article. Simply type in a title to your story, then hit the "Create" button. Then start typing the text for your story in the box that comes up. That's all there is to it! If you're not familiar with how to use the MediaWiki editing interface, take a look at the editing help page.
Before starting, it is suggested you read the following pages:
- The content guide, which tells you what content has to be in an article in order for it to be acceptable.
- The style guide, which shows the correct style of writing and wiki-formatting for your article.
- Writing an article, which gives you a step-by-step guide to writing the article itself.
You don't need to read the entire content of the above articles before you start contributing - but it's recommended that you at least skim through them to get an idea for the writing process.
Lastly, if you get stuck, have a question, or need help, you can always post a query at the Water Cooler, where you can receive help from more experienced Wikinewsies.
