So, eh.... What's Visual Editor? Blood Red Sandman (Talk) (Contribs) 22:14, 12 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Go try to edit English Wikipedia using the beta edit tab. That's Visual Editor. We'll get it at some point. Given the implementation issues on Wikipedia, we want to make sure developers fully understand all the project extensions, templates, javascript tools so VE does not accidentally render the project non-functional. --LauraHale (talk) 06:33, 13 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Initial comments[edit]

  • FlaggedRevisions will not be a conflict; dewp and plwp both use it, and neither have reported issues;
  • Liquidthreads will not be a conflict; we only deploy to the user and main-spaces;
  • I can't speak for page-specific JavaScript, although I suspect you are likely to run into conflicts with pieces of JS that exist within the editing window - but pieces of JS that exist in read view should be fine.

Hope this helps :). Okeyes (WMF) (talk) 12:48, 14 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Well, that's some of the things essential to our moment-to-moment operations. :-)  --Pi zero (talk) 13:38, 14 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Sure; oddly enough, I can't speak for how extensions I've never used or code that hasn't yet been written integrates with the VE ;p. I'm going to poke the developers and see if they have any thoughts. Okeyes (WMF) (talk) 13:40, 14 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
