A massive weather system with high winds swept across the eastern part of the US state of Texas including Tyler, Texas on Monday evening, resulting in power outages, downed trees and property damage. The storm struck the Tyler area around 8:00pm (Central Standard Time).

Former US President Donald Trump was convicted, by a New York jury, of 34 counts of falsifying business records on Thursday. It is the first time a US president has been convicted on criminal charges, and Trump is now the first former president to become a felon.
Early Sunday morning, a shooting in Akron, Ohio, left one person dead and twenty four others wounded. Bullet casings and two guns were found at the scene, police said.
