Lakeysha? I bet she was some loud black woman, par for the course.

Obviously you are an ignorant, racist person. You comment to this post is about as irrelevant as you are as a human being.

Many people are inconsiderate. However, on occasion, I have found that some Black People, have even more of an attitude than others. They seem to go out of thier way to talk louder and be more rude than others. This is NOT just a racist rant. I have seen this. Can you tell me why they act this way. Perhaps they are the racists and want to bother and tick off all the white people around them.

Black people racist? THIS IS UNHEARD OF! why would a race of people who were slaves have a chip on their shoulder? you sir are insane.

Crazynomad (talk)23:01, 25 May 2011

Every race has been enslaved at one time. Several for far longer than the most popular one.

Obviously you are an ignorant person. You comment as if stereotypes are not at all true, then why do they exist? On average black people tend to be more crude, rude, lacking of self awareness and empathy. Now to be fair all people from all races can behave this way but it just so happens a large population of black people are like this which gives birth to this stereotype. Learn to think before your emotions shit out your mouth.

Crazynomad (talk)22:56, 25 May 2011

True, the bloody blacks always have loud mouths, walking next to each other and SHOUTING when conversing...you cannot take the bush out of them.156.8.251.250 (talk) 04:47, 27 May 2011 (UTC)

This is actually quite true.

People may find this racist, but they know it's true.

Comments from feedback form - "The lady should sue amtrak for..."

The lady should sue amtrak for causing her embarrassment and causing her trip to be delayed. Amtrak has no policy against talking on a phone yet they have a women arrested for just that. I think people should be curious in their surroundings but having a women arrested over it is crossing the line.

67.189.123.16 (talk)23:20, 25 May 2011

The article seems to be missing one of the most important facts about the incident: what she was arrested for. Disorderly conduct, was it? Which is not limited to trains, so Amtrak policy or lack thereof isn't altogether to the point.

The bitch should have had her bloody tongue cut out.156.8.251.250 (talk) 04:42, 27 May 2011 (UTC)

156.8.251.250 (talk)04:42, 27 May 2011

The article is incorrect. Amtrak has what are called Quiet Cars where it is explicitly forbidden to use your cell phone in *any* way that makes noise. If you talk to another passenger, you are supposed to whisper. There are signs reminding you, and the conductor also mentions it. If she wanted to talk she could've left the Quiet Car.

64.132.218.4 (talk)21:30, 27 May 2011

That's if she was in said 'Quiet car'.

She should sue indeed sue the Salem Police for arresting her on nonexistent legal grounds. There ought to be a thorough investigation of this matter with disciplinary action for the rogue law enforcement officers involved. Whether the woman was being annoying and disrespectful is beside the point- her civil liberties were being violated. The police can't arbitrarily arrest someone if no law is being broken, that's the sort of thing that happens in authoritarian police states. She wasn't even violating any of the Company's policies, so there's no case whatsoever for "disorderly conduct". And will someone please explain to me what relevance some crotchety Australian I've never heard of with an axe to grind against "youths" has to an article about an incident that took place in Oregon??!! This article reads like a headline you'd expect to find in The Onion. "Iowa Man tells roommate he's going to McDonald's 'with or without him', commenting on the matter college student from Mozambique says roommates ought to learn to show some respect"

67.142.172.24 (talk)19:59, 28 May 2011

No. She deserved it. If someone goes to a library and shouts to a telephone for 16 hours, it's disorderly conduct. If someone goes to a funeral and bothers other people for 16 hours it's disorderly conduct.

There are places where people are expected to shut the hell up, and if you don't shut up for SIXTEEN HOURS, even after being told to stop, in one of these places, it's most definitely disorderly conduct. Regardles of company policy.

mais pourquoi vous êtes toutes du coté à la police Lakeysha a le droit de parler au téléphone.

Brilliant.

82.198.250.4 (talk)11:05, 11 July 2011

The woman was arrested in Salem, Oregon not Salem, Washington and the articles in reference state this. Blood Red Sandman, stop reverting the article back when it is incorrect and I am correcting it.

193.18.92.5 (talk)15:26, 24 May 2011

Je ne pense pas que tu devrais dire cela, qu'arrive-t-il si tu nous induis tous en erreur. Vérifie tes références et dis-m'en des nouvelles!

204.81.19.72 (talk)16:41, 30 May 2011

I like how they're blaming this on "youths," and "younger generations" when this was a 39 year old woman.

208.49.180.242 (talk)12:38, 24 May 2011

Yeah, it's just wonderful isn't it? </sarcasm>

74.32.235.66 (talk)14:24, 24 May 2011

Well some 39 year old women just like to think they're young...

Ragettho (talk)14:43, 24 May 2011

Hey now its just her 9th 30th birthday

It is so True. Young People are the first to pick up thier Cell Phone and start Yapping. How rude. If you ask them to lowwer thier voice, they get nasty. They are not the only ones. Most people are inconsiderate. I just want peace and quiet on my daily commute. Why can't Metro North have 1 car dedicated to people that want to be NOISE free. Constant or loud talking in a confined space is stressful for many people.

206.208.180.240 (talk)21:29, 25 May 2011

I think some of you really like putting people into groups. Not all young people are rude and not all african-orientated people are either. Some of the rudest people I know were of caucasian persuasion. It's a person-to-person situation and each person should be respected as an idividual, not a race, age or gender.

198.96.178.33 (talk)16:38, 28 May 2011
