So if they had a SOP for 2003 and 2004, they probably had a 2005, 2006 and 2007 SOP. With 2008 approaching this is just under 4 years behind. Sweet! --SVTCobra 23:59, 3 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That was my first thought as well. Is the excitement because it relates to Gitmo and the fact that someone obtained the document? Because the contents of the SOP aren't that alarming. Perhaps someone should just request the 2007-2008 version of the SOP through Freedom of Information as the Pentagon suggests. Jcart1534 00:33, 4 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  1. A previous request for this document by the ACLU was denied.
  2. The contents contradict a number of public statements made to the press in 2003-04, this was not included to avoid the piece becoming a U.S. DoD bashing fest. --Brian McNeil / talk 08:05, 4 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I don't blame them for denying the release of current versions of this or any other military procedure manuals. --SVTCobra 19:44, 4 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Visit the Joint Task Force website[edit]

A good source of information on Joint Task Force Guantanamo is their website: http://www.jtfgtmo.southcom.mil. They have stories and photos about the command. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Joenavy (talkcontribs) 20:15, 4 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

As someone who instructed service members deploying to serve here I had to know the SOP inside and out. There are many fallacies mentioned in this that I can not and will not correct, as most of it is through interpretation of someone unfamiliar with how the procedures were used. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.114.50.48 (talk) 06:30, 1 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
