Shaking babies?

Yikes! I'm surprised he got a four-month sentence!

Manslaughter's a lucky conviction for him, too. A lot of places would go for broke with a murder trial.

Especially since "to stop him from crying" is the typical excuse in those cases.

52nd birthday??

if he was 11 years old when he started climbing in 1982 then he could not have been 52 when he died. 156.8.251.250 (talk) 15:49, 30 April 2011 (UTC)

Indeed. But the article doesn't say that — it says that he started climbing when he was eleven. It then goes on to say that he climbed a certain peak in 1982.

Sorry, I correct myself. Did not see the period/full stop. A result of old age! 156.8.251.250 (talk) 15:52, 30 April 2011 (UTC)

"In 1982, he climbed his first 8,000-meter peak ...". He did not start climbing in 1982. He started climbing at the age of eleven.
