This image needs a fair-use rationale. --SVTCobra 00:58, 19 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

It has one - {{Publicity}}. There was a discussion about allowing that template as a boilerplate FU to appropriate images; I believe consensus was in favour. Blood Red Sandman (Talk) (Contribs) 01:02, 19 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
Has anyone contacted http://billyeli.com to request that the image be released under a free license? --Ixfd64 (talk) 17:52, 19 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
I'm thinking about asking the author to relicense this image, and doing the same for Echelon office building.jpg. However, I'm concerned that doing this so soon would be considered insensitive. Perhaps I should wait a few days? --Ixfd64 (talk) 20:48, 19 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
  • If you want to ask them to relicense, I'd say in a couple of years - if at all. Frankly, the whole idea is kinda nuts when most other media will say, "we're gonna claim fair use and they can waste millions suing". Asking to relicense is opening their eyes to a potential to be litigious when we're talking about an indisputably newsworthy image that was - at one time - put out as a publicity photo. --Brian McNeil / talk 22:09, 19 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
Fair use under the grounds of HE IS DEAD AND WE CANT FLIPPING GO TAKE ANOTHER PICTURE OF HIM. Seriously, why are we even talking about this. --ShakataGaNai ^_^ 22:23, 19 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
Sorry for going off topic, but I found a free alternative to Echelon office building.jpg on Flickr. I was going to upload it to Commons, but another user beat me to it. :) --Ixfd64 (talk) 20:15, 20 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
