  • It is an honourary knighthood as he is not a British Citizen, thus he will not be called 'Sir'
That is a good point. In fact, I believe that the article should be changed to say that the reason that he cannot be called "sir" is that he is not British. The fact that he is a US citizen is irrelevant, isn't it? --Amoore 04:20, 8 Mar 2005 (UTC)
I edited the article to reflect the fact that since Gates is a citizen of UK, he can't be "Sir." see w:KBE --Amoore 15:47, 8 Mar 2005 (UTC)
  • I thought he was out-bucked by the guy who owns IKEA, thus making him not the richest man.
Thats a major misconception made by people, the supposed owner - Ingvar Kamprad - no longer owns all of the company, much of his fortune has been transfered to a charitable trust. CGorman 20:27, 10 Mar 2005 (UTC)

'honourary' => 'honorary' ('honourary' is always incorrect, even in British English) Van der Hoorn (talk) 13:57, 26 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
