Welcome[edit]

Abögarp, welcome to Wikinews! Thank you for your contributions; I hope you like the place and decide to stay! If you haven't done so already, you may want to create an account.

Our key policies - if you read anything, read these!

Here a few pointers to help you get to know Wikinews:

There are always things to do on Wikinews:

By the way, you can sign your name on Talk pages using four tildes (~~~~), which produces your name and the current date. If you have any questions, you can ask them at the water cooler or to anyone on the Welcommittee, or ask me on my Talk page. Again, welcome! --Brian McNeil / talk 20:37, 13 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sourcing news[edit]

I've rolled back your changes on the Mexico portal. If you want to report on something and feature it there you have to do it as an article which you can cite on the portal alongside a link to the full thing. Within the article there are rules on sourcing all the information you rely on (look at a few articles to see some of the templates we use). The portal you edited could probably do with an update to use a lead article template under major events, then you could include a picture as well. --Brian McNeil / talk 20:51, 13 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
