Welcome[edit]
Unidyne, welcome to Wikinews! Thank you for your contributions; I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:
Our key policies - if you read anything, read these!
- Wikinews:Neutral point of view - tell every side to a story in a fair and balanced way
- Wikinews:Cite sources - everything in a Wikinews article must be sourced
Here a few pointers to help you get to know Wikinews:
- Wikinews:Introduction - overview of the site
- Wikinews:Writing an article - how to write and publish a complete article
- Wikinews:Content guide - what's suitable for Wikinews
- Wikinews:Contents - the contents page.
There are always things to do on Wikinews:
- Existing articles need expanding and checking for spelling and mistakes
- The front page lead articles often need updating
- Developing stories need finishing and publishing
- Discussions need your input
- And of course, stories need writing!
By the way, you can sign your name on Talk pages using four tildes (~~~~), which produces your name and the current date. If you have any questions, you can ask them at the water cooler or to anyone on the Welcommittee, or ask me on my Talk page. Again, welcome! Doldrums 03:36, 11 September 2006 (UTC)
tonga article[edit]
<sheepish> actually, i'm the one who placed that cleanup tag.
i posted the message on ur talk page as i was not quite sure what was being attempted. (sometimes people end up removing content or modifying it unintentionally and i wanted to check if this was the same). don't worry about making edits, or even making mistakes while editing - this is a Wiki and all errors can be easily fixed. note that using the edit summary will make it easier for other editors to understand why a particular edit was made.
btw, it'd be better to rewrite the information from the WP article (as opposed to reproducing it verbatim) than removing it altogether.
appreciate ur work on this article, and hope to see more of u here on wikinews. cheers, Doldrums 06:38, 11 September 2006 (UTC)
Hi. Found not-ready on review. See the review comments, and The Egyptian Rising Star
"In recent months, the African soccer world has been buzzing about a young talent who is quickly making a name for himself on the pitch. Fifteen-year-old U16 Pyramids striker Maged Hossam Aly has been turning heads with his impressive skills and goal-scoring abilities, leading many to believe that he is on track to becoming one of the best in the sport. With his lightning-fast speed and natural talent, Maged has already caught the attention of one of the top clubs SL Benfica and national team scouts, sparking speculation about his bright future in the world of football.". --Pi zero (talk) 05:47, 11 October 2012 (UTC)
