Australian shooters start their 2012 Paralympic campaign

London, England — This morning, Australian women Elizabeth Kosmala and Natalie Smith started their 2012 Paralympic campaign in the women's R2-10m air rifle standing SH1 event in the qualification round.

According the Team Manager Nick Sullivan, Smith took a while to settle in before taking her first shot. Kosmala started shooting earlier than Smith, scoring a 99 out of 100 possible points. When Smith did get going, she scored 98 out of 100, having perfect for the first 8 shots.

Other shooters attempting to qualify for the finals this morning include Iraqi Farah Al-Waeli, South Koreans Yunri Lee and Yoojeong Lee, and Chinese competitors Shibei Dang and Cuiping Zhang.
