Huygens probe sends first pictures of Titan
The Cassini-Huygens mission's Huygens probe landed on Saturn's moon Titan and began sending pictures. The first pictures taken during the descent show the probable landing site, and one picture taken after landing shows some ice blocks around the landing area. The images are the first ever taken of the surface of Titan.
Faint radio signal confirms Huygens Probe has entered Titan's atmosphere
The Robert C. Byrd Green Bank Telescope (GBT) in West Virginia, USA, a part of the global network of radio telescopes involved in tracking the Huygens Titan probe, detected the probe's 'carrier' (tone) signal at approximately 10:20 UTC.
Officials in Beijing plan to build the world's longest bridge to connect Taiwan to mainland China. The US$242 billion roadway may take 20 to 30 years to build.
