More than half a million people have been displaced in Lebanon as the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah continues into its second week.

PCC promotes new wave of attacks in Brazil


The criminal organization known as PCC (Primeiro Comando da Capital, Portuguese for First Command of the Capital City) promotes a new wave of attacks against civil and authority targets in Brazil which began early July. The main attacks are occurring in São Paulo state.

Atlantis departs hangar ahead of August 28 launch

The Space Shuttle Atlantis has entered final preparation for mission STS-115, and has begun movement from its hangar at the Orbiter Processing Facility , to the Vehicle Assembly Building , where it will be attached to its external tank and solid rocket boosters.

Two children living in a small holiday home in Motueka, New Zealand died in a fire on Saturday night.

Victoria Cross fetches record price at auction


The auction house Bonhams and Goodman have sold the last privately owned Victoria Cross awarded at the World War I, to Gallipoli campaign in Sydney tonight.
