Non-neutral category name[edit]

{{flag}}

This category needs renaming. Political or social labels using -phobia are a political tool. --Pi zero (talk) 01:53, 17 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I can't remember if it was on-wiki or off wiki discussion, but we do not have categories like terrorism, and islamophobia for a good reason, as it challenges our neutral point of view policy. Even 'Discrimination against Religious Groups/Islam' is (the slash is for the subpage) seems to be creating the same problem. I thought about the name an hour ago, but now I can't recall. Something like 'Rulings (or laws) again religious groups'.

If there were any doubt what a tarpit this can be, observe the sequence of changes-of-target to Wikipedia's redirect Anti-Islam sentiment. We want to avoid that sort of nonsense by choosing an inherently stable arrangement. (As an example of a neutral en.wn category name that took considerable trouble to devise, I'd cite Gun politics.) --Pi zero (talk) 23:18, 21 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I'm about to rename this to Category:Anti-Islamism. If that's not good enough we can discuss from there. --Pi zero (talk) 17:07, 24 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
There could be some confusion over the difference between being against Islam and being against Islamism; on the other hand, I'm not enthused by the prospect of a category with the word "prejudice" in it. --Pi zero (talk) 17:35, 24 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
