Salafi?[edit]

@Pi zero: What is the evidence of Dadullah belonging to Category:Salafism? I do see he is placed in w:Category:Salafi jihadists on Wikipedia, but it is not otherwise mentioned on his article. The Taliban (both Afghan and Pakistani) are considered Category:Sunni Islam and w:Deobandi if sliced thinner. According to w:Salafi movement it wasn't really present in South Asia until recently through w:Ahl-i Hadith. It seems dubious, although possible, that a senior Taliban commander would have been allowed to be an adherent of a rival faction/ideology. (I apologize for any headaches this post may cause for whomever reads it.) --SVTCobra 18:38, 28 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm. His article on ar.wp references their article on Salafi Jihadism. As best I can figure (which is not as well as one might wish), their whole view of what Salafism is, is quite different from the one presented by en.wp. Very murky indeed. --Pi zero (talk) 21:37, 28 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
