Withdrawl is long overdue

[edit]

Obama should have pulled the troops out the month after he was elected. And the Iraqi quislings who supported the US invasion should man up and take their punishment instead of trying to skulk off to America. 209.137.134.61 (talk) 18:20, 21 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

How to request citation on Bush administration commitment to troop withdrawal?

[edit]

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this.

In Wikipedia articles, there is a standard format for citing sources of reported facts, and of flagging possibly suspicious facts for citation.

In the article, it says "In 2008, the Bush administration had committed to withdrawing all US troops from Iraq by the end of 2011". This is news to me, I don't recall any such commitment. I could certainly be wrong on that.

I'm not sure though how I would properly label this as something which would be strenghened by citation. Can anybody tell me? 76.121.240.78 (talk) 06:55, 26 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

You're referring to Wikipedia's use of <ref> markup. That is only appropriate for an encyclopedia. What you're looking for will be in the listed sources which is how Wikinews cites used references. Brian McNeil / talk 12:03, 26 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

Attitudes of Iraqis

[edit]

It seems to be the prevailing opinion that the Iraqi people hate, or severely dislike, Americans. This is simply not true. There will always be people who hate us (it comes with being a superpower) but American troops were greatly appreciated in Iraq and the media did a lot of sweeping under the rug when it came to that. 98.196.74.239 (talk) 03:25, 23 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

WRONG!!! america was appreciated in the beginning, only by shiites and later they hated them too! 186.94.112.250 (talk) 04:46, 26 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
