Tsunami[edit]

One of the sources clearly states that the tsunami warning was canceled, how can the article claim that a tsunami was generated? There never seems to have been more than a warning. --SVTCobra 01:14, 20 March 2009 (UTC)

No tsunami[edit]

There was no tsunami http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090319/ap_on_re_au_an/as_tonga_earthquake --SVTCobra 11:10, 20 March 2009 (UTC)

The PTWC said there was, though no big waves. Just because a tsunami didn't kill anyone or damage anything, doesn't mean one was not generated. Tsunamis can be inches or feet tall. DragonFire1024 (Talk to the Dragon) 11:15, 20 March 2009 (UTC)
Also to answer your other section: http://www.prh.noaa.gov/ptwc/messages/pacific/2009/pacific.2009.03.19.193112.txt Sea level readings confirm that a tsunami was generated. This tsunami may have been destructive along coastlines of the region near the earthquake epicenter. DragonFire1024 (Talk to the Dragon) 11:17, 20 March 2009 (UTC)
Let's put this simply, a tsunami warning was issued - it was withdrawn. --Brian McNeil / talk 13:56, 20 March 2009 (UTC)
