Review of revision 1178438 [Passed][edit]

Money[edit]

This article should contain conversions to at least one globally recognised currency - realistically, euro or USD. Or both. Blood Red Sandman (Talk) (Contribs) 13:18, 12 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Sounds like a good idea, at least in principle. FWIW, there were practical problems that caused me, at the time of review, to classify the USD conversions then present as unverifiable information (and, given the lateness, failing for them seemed like a recipe for staleness).
  • Many of them were wrong, so far as I could see. One of them was in the opposite direction from the others, and several others were inconsistent (in mutually inconsistent ways) with the conversion factor provided in one of the sources. One looked like it had a typo in it, as far as I could judge.
  • Many of them had more digits of precision than the CAD figure, which renders the conversion deceptive imho by portraying the original number as more precise than it actually was.
I did note, without being entirely sure how one would properly handle it (but probably one would just grin and bear it), that if one rounded off USD to the same number of digits of precision as CAD, several of the figures simply come out as the same in USD as in CAD. --Pi zero (talk) 13:51, 12 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
