Talk:Apple introduces new iPod with video playback capabilities
Too many iMac references?
- Possibly, but if that's the case, all it should need is a title change to something along the lines of "Apple unveils new versions of iMac, iPod at event", and it should solve the issue. --Mrmiscellanious 23:23, 13 October 2005 (UTC)
- Indeed it is the case, in my opinion. I think anyone casually reading this article would be inclined to agree. 13:28, 14 October 2005 (UTC)
Product placement vs news
This "story" is alarmingly like a product placement. The only personal view reported is that of the CEO of the company launching the product. An awful lot of wikinews stories follow this trend. Please don't look for solutions to this problem in policy development. There will always be cracks that some lamer can push a story like this through. Instead, let's just be straight about this. If you write a story like this, you are lame.
It's too late to fix, so don't try. By even posting the article, you have shown that your intent was not to discover meaningful news happenings, but instead you wanted to brag about some sexy new thang that you desire to own or sell. We shouldn't do repair jobs on spam, it's like putting a coat of paint on a dog turd.
Slashdot does a really good job of covering these types of new products. Advertisers, and what passes for industry press, do a good job of publicising these types of new products. But Wikinewsians? Who gives a shit about the latest new vacuum cleaner feature or car door styling? I want to know what happened in Africa today. Get on it, you lazy bum!

MessedRocker is a wikinewsie, not an apple rep. I think. I guess he just likes ipods.
It's a good article, if biased (hey, you can play vids on an old i-river with good firmware), but, well, I don't care. As long as it's by a real wikinewsie. I'd say let it run, or do a bit of a fix if you really feel the urge.
I wrote this because I thought people would be very interested. iPod is a very popular product, and I want to deliver the news for it. Though I admit, I do want to own one of those someday. —MESSEDROCKER (talk) 21:52, 14 October 2005 (UTC)
