Hello Patrick
We don’t have any consideration at this time for a broadcasting arrangement for the 2011 International Cup. The Cup has been played as a community event with open access to enable any supporters of all teams to be able to attend, and to allow any Australian fans to go along and watch the matches. All matches in the past have been open through the preliminary rounds, with the Grand Final played at the MCG as a curtain-raiser to an AFL matche.
At this point, we don’t have any matches planned for overseas in the lead-up to the 2010 season, but are prepared to consider some options for 2011 if the economic situation improves.
For questions three and four, the AFL’s plans on development in these two states have been in place for more than a decade now. The simplest summation for you is in our next generation strategy, which I’ll forward

To begin with, I'd like to thank you for the answers you gave for the featured article I wrote. It can be read here.
1. I know the next International Cup isn't until 2011, but I'm wondering, is the AFL considering any form of broadcasting deal for the event? What have been the arrangements to this effect in the past?
2. Are there plans by either the AFL or any of the clubs to play an exhibition game overseas at the end of the season? (I remember this was done a few years back)
3. With regards to development in Queensland and New South Wales, where are the growth areas of these states in the AFL's opinion?

Some comments
[edit]This is just in my humble opinion, I think what the term "open" means in this context could use clarification, as well as explaining to a not australia rules footbal audience, why that is important. Some minor ciritisim: some of the sections are a little bit disjointed, and the headline seems to only reflect the contents of the first section. Bawolff ☺☻ 12:35, 5 November 2009 (UTC)
