Insurgents reference

[edit]

Just as we do not immediately infer that the recent airplane/drone bombing of a village or group of Iraqi people was done by the US by saying "This method of attack has been a common tactic of the US military throughout the course of the post-war military action in Iraq." Neither should we infer that insurgents are responsible for this attack without either an admission by some insurgent group or some type of reported evidence, at least I think so. Is copy and pasting the definition of and IED and facts from Wikipedia copyvio? Jason Safoutin 15:28, 29 January 2006 (UTC)Reply
I think it's better to just wikify the term. Neutralizer 16:21, 29 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

If it was copyvio, I didn't know. I didn't C&P the wikipedia entry on IEDs. I just happened to know the acronym and thought it might be worth mentioning that IEDs are a common insurgent practice. I also didn't consider it an NPOV problem, just some useful information. At any rate, the article doesn't lose much without the reference, and the wikiifying is sufficient for any who don't know the info. Besides, the wikipedia article probably has more info than I provided. Sorry for any issues.MattM 18:09, 29 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

AP is reporting that the two are out of surgery and stable. That Woodruff has broken bones in addition to the reported head injuries, and that they will be evacuated to Germany over night. I have a question about the protocol? Should this article be updated with this new information or should a new article be started? 66.57.113.59 22:30, 29 January 2006 (UTC)Reply
