Talk:Brush fires threaten neighborhoods in Los Angeles, California
Add topicI noticed the fire probably around an hour or so ago from my home in Bel-Air. It looks like the fire is heavier in Brentwood, and it would have to jump the freeway to get to where I am. I checked the time when it occurred that I should go ahead and post this on Wikinews, and at that time it was about 1:30 (but the fire had already been going for about an hour, maybe more.
I also took pictures that I will post shortly. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Theshibboleth (talk • contribs) 20:49, 8 July 2009

Review
[edit]Before this is published, it should probably have pictures, or other sources supporting it to verify the story. Ideally it would be longer too (that could perhaps be ignored as breaking news). Bawolff ☺☻ 21:25, 8 July 2009 (UTC)

Recent brush fire
[edit]In this article, you said that many homes and the Getty Center were threatened. I don't know where you got this information, because the LAFD issued a statement early on that the Getty Center was not in any danger. They evacuated to be on the safe side. But this was a total overstatement. There aren't even many homes up where the fire is located, and if the Getty Center was in no danger, then these homes weren't either. I drive up in that area every single day. I know that area like the back of my hand. Please don't post overblown articles like that, articles that would make the media go bonkers and plaster it all over the front pages of every newspaper. It just isn't necessary. 71.116.133.34 (talk) 04:36, 10 July 2009 (UTC)
