Wellington, New Zealand[edit]

@Pi zero: It is a mere redirect to Wellington, And if there would be any new Wellington, those Wikipedians would name it Wellington (known for what peculiarity)

Yes, they would. But for news, imho, it's a better mindset to qualify more often than not. Wikipedia, you see, as a matter of principle, assigns the unadorned name to the single most famous thing of that name, going by the Wikipedian community's subjective judgement of fame, and then if there are other things of that name, they put a hatnote on the article directing readers who wanted something else. For example, Wikipedia article Tripoli is about the city in Libya, and a hatnote says for other uses see Tripoli (disambiguation). But on Wikinews, we want to minimize subjective judgements about importance and we want to make our links go directly to the right place so we want to know right away if there's more than one. So on Wikinews, Tripoli is actually a disambiguation page, directing the user to either Category:Tripoli, Libya or Category:Tripoli, Lebanon. --Pi zero (talk) 19:16, 26 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
