Review of revision 913091 [Passed][edit]

This is confusing[edit]

...filed an application for the ".misr" (".Egypt") top-level domain name (مصر‎ in Arabic) - Well did they register .misr, .Egypt, or .<thingy in arabic>? Also is this just for tld (one would assume so, since i was always under the impression that other level domain names could be internationalized for quite some time now, and ICANN only controls tld's, but its unclear from the article). Bawolff

A couple of copyedits have been made, which I hope make things clearer. What is new, but perhaps not clear from the article, is that the tlds can now be in scripts other than Latin, in this instance, Arabic. --Александр Дмитрий (Alexandr Dmitri) (talk) 14:17, 17 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Concern copied from comments[edit]

Someone posted a message on the comment page that I think would be better here, I've copied it below:

Quote

The title of the piece should read as follows:

Egypt is first to apply for top-level domain name in Arabic.

or

Egypt applies for first lop-level domain name in Arabic.

Reason: there is no "registration" process for top-level domain names. It is a formal application process involving substantial amount of work and documentation. Registration of domain names is what a registrar performs and what the announcement specifies the Egyptian registry will start providing. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Kbrose (talkcontribs)

Thank you for moving it to the right place. A further comment, the article calls ICANN a regulator, which is an expression that ICANN would likely not support. It creates the image of a governmental entity. It should be replaced with coordinator or manager or something similar. Kbrose (talk) 03:16, 18 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Changed regulator to coordinator per their website --Александр Дмитрий (Alexandr Dmitri) (talk) 05:52, 18 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

How to add new category?[edit]

I want to add the Category:ICAAN. Is that possible? Mattisse (talk) 16:33, 19 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
