A new gadget is a wonderful thing. When my sister dished off to me my first digital camera she won as a door prize, I knew that for the price of the ticket she paid to win it, it was worth having.

So when I finally broke that first and only digital camera I owned... well, I mean when I got this great new 'spritzy' model of camera to replace the "old" camera, with features so new to me it will take many outings to scratch its capabilities, I treked a few miles on these ever so cloudy day to try it out. My subjects were willing, but the sunshine was not. Sadly, there was not a drop of sunshine to illuminate my shoot.

But despite what clouds may say, Spring is in the air! And the blooms prove it!

News?

[edit]

Can this really be considered 'news'? Spring comes round every year... Dan100 (Talk) 08:14, 2 Apr 2005 (UTC)

So too does Groundhog's Day! So too does the Zimbabwe national election come round every four years.
I submitted it to contribute something light hearted. In its defense, my daughter-in-law said, without bias I think, that she liked it very much! But this story, along with an earlier submission of Ode to Hunter S. Thompson, attempts through experience to define what Wikinews is all about.
My thinking is that WHacKynews is the Wikinews answer to being light-hearted. -edw 16:29, 2 Apr 2005 (UTC)
