This could be a problem. The big easy has a large (70%)black population with many living in sub-standard houses(the politically correct term for shacks). And, as is typical of the way the poor are treated in America, the warnings and help arrived too little and too late. Paulrevere2005 16:49, 28 August 2005 (UTC)Reply

President Bush declared Louisiana a Federal Disaster Area yesterday. That will help coordination. It's a little to early to hand out bottled water, but I expect to see him down there.--KBK 21:19, 28 August 2005 (UTC)Reply

If anyone can stop this hurricane, it's the President. Please don't criticize him when our nation is at war on TWO fronts - terrorists and the weather.

You obviously are unaware of the powers over hurricanes of Pat Robertson *roll eyes* --24.129.198.129 20:39, 29 August 2005 (UTC)Reply
I usually don't respond to sarcasm with seriousness, but... if you take out a wedge of the eyewall and some of the outward regions with condensation-causing particles (the opposite of cloud seeding), you could theoretically disrupt the storm's stability. Good luck dropping dust into a hurricane, though... -- Phyzome is Tim McCormack 11:18, August 31, 2005 (UTC)

Still waiting for our President to show up (leaders should lead maybe? this situation needs to have someone in control giving orders). The mayor said there is no coordination and you can see that on your tv with the broken levees completely without even any attempts to plug the breeches. The mayor says that noone can find a helicopter to use to drop bags of gravel or a barge to use to plug the hole. No one can get an aircraft carrier or cruise boat in to help the people get out. The water is still rising; 15 feet throughout the city now.Ya just don't get it. These people are poor AND black...not the Palm Beach crowd...and this is not a "battleground" state. Our whitehouse couldn't care less....and re; comment above; maybe if we weren't starting so many wars; we wouldn't be in so many wars.[[1]]. Paulrevere2005 11:48, 31 August 2005 (UTC)Reply

"RTA busses" should be "RTA buses"

Done (though I gather the two-s spelling isn't actually considered "wrong", just not preferred) --Pi zero (talk) 12:50, 24 August 2015 (UTC)Reply
