OR[edit]

I used the announcement made by Hon David Cunliffe. --Nzgabriel | Talk 08:04, 13 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

article relies on a single source, a press release by an involved party, and reports only on the positives of the bill passed. please use multiple, independent sources and try to cover the full spectrum of opinions, when reporting opinions. Radio New Zealand, the New Zealand Herald and Scoop reports on some criticism of the telecom bill. incorporatig some of it wld help balance the tone of the article.  — Doldrums(talk) 08:18, 13 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
But, this article is tagged as OR and is OR, thus the mainstream news sites should not be used, perhaps other press releases through Brian | (Talk) | New Zealand Portal 10:25, 13 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
we shld be able to include both OR and content sourced from other news sources in an article, i think. to rely solely on primary sources to write an OR article will be a pretty tough, if worthwhile, job. and the danger is that such articles will have holes we can't fill without using secondary sources. i wld suggest changing the wording on the OR tag to "includes first-hand journalism" if that's the concern. (bring this up on cooler?)  — Doldrums(talk) 10:48, 13 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
