DPRK or North Korea?

[edit]

Does Wikinews call it the DPRK or North Korea? The former is arguably a little more NPOV. Computerjoe (talk) 09:59, 25 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Er, not really. DPRK is a name which a totalitarian state uses in order to claim it is not totalitarian. North Korea is just geographical and says nothing about its politics. --140.247.241.193 (talk) 19:52, 25 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

"successful"

[edit]

I think this item contains POV, which is expressed in the use of quotes around "successful" (nuclear test). I dont believe that Korean Central News Agency announcement had quotes, therefore they seem to be here to express mistrust for North Korea in general. I know, they are totalitarian regime and all, but still. 92.113.212.36 (talk) 02:34, 26 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

It's just meant to imply that "successful" is itself meant in the technical sense, obviously. --98.217.14.211 (talk) 16:28, 27 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
