Lede?[edit]

At this moment, the lede should be much shorter that it is, succinctly answering —for an international audience— as many of the basic questions as reasonably possible.

  • Exactly what is the news event? Release of test results? If that didn't happen within the past day or two, the story isn't fresh.
  • Most of the information in the current first paragraph should probably be moved into a separate second paragraph.
  • An international audience will likely never have heard of the baccalaureate exam.

I made some changes and updated the article. Is it good now? The subject of the news is the unusually high number of students failing the exam. -- Petru Dimitriu (talk) 08:09, 4 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Purely on form, it looks pretty good. From what I can tell there are also two independent sources (one source being from a different publisher than the others).
I, for one, can't judge the content as I don't read Romanian (for that matter, even automatic translation from Romanian to English looks pretty bad). I rather suspect I'm not alone in that, which could be a problem. Hm... --Pi zero (talk) 23:44, 4 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Frankly, I was afraid that this will happen. -- Petru Dimitriu (talk) 10:18, 5 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I rewrote the article using English sources. Hopefully it's ok, although I had to remove some very interesting information because it wasn't in the English sources. Mattisse (talk) 19:02, 5 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
