NPOV

Hmmm. It doesn't really sound that bad to me. You have the word steal and stealing in quotes, so that alerts the reader that something else is going on. The very first line explains what's going on. I think the NPOV tag should be removed, and this article moved forward. Drew R. Smith (talk) 11:30, 26 August 2009 (UTC)

The police are technically not stealing anything. They are confiscating the items. Whether or not that is considered legal would be something for a lawyer to comment on and for another article perhaps. Until then, saying 'steal' is implying a crime has been committed, which does not appear to be true because everyone has their property returned. I'm still not convinced that the way the words were used was NPOV, but I changed the word stealing in the article to confiscating. I'll leave it up to you to determine whether or not the article itself needs to be renamed. IMO stealing will grab readers attention better than confiscating or taking. Drew R.
